The twofold edition (#5-6) of the research and analytical journal "Information Society" for 2008 is published. The special edition of the journal is devoted to the 10th anniversary of the Institute of the Information Society and is compiled out of reports made at the 10th (jubilee) international conference "Information Society: People, Technologies, Innovations" associated with the jubilee of IIS.

The materials of the special edition reflect the main goals of the jubilee conference: discussion of results of interdisciplinary researches in the sphere of information society and knowledge economy, and also sharing experience and discussion of problems of ICT use in public and municipal government, social sphere, business, industries, and environment control, social and everyday life.

Along with articles by well-known Russian experts reworked out of reports, translations of speeches by leading foreign specialists in ICT development and use were presented in the journal.

Columns of the edition correspond to thematic trends of conference’s four sessions: "Information Society: Policies and Development Factors", "Information Society: People", Information Society: Technologies" and “Information Society: Innovations".
