The meeting
was organized by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs
(UN DESA) in cooperation with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU)
and took place on 16-17 May 2012 in the ILO conference center in Geneva. Yuri
Hohlov, Chairman of IIS Board of Directors, was actively involved in the
Workshop preparation as coordinator of WSIS C7 Action Line (e-Government).
The interview took place on the premises of the WSIS Forum 2012 and on
the World Telecommunication and Information Society Day. Tatiana
Ershova, Editor-in-Chief of the Journal and IIS General Director, interrogated Dr. Touré on several aspects of the global information
society development.

of WSIS Forum 2012 Tatiana Ershova, IIS Director General, and Louisa Rizmanova,
IIS Director of Department of International Cooperation and Public Relations, met
with Heba Gamal, Senior Manager of International Partnership of East-European
Division of “TechSoup Global”, global operator of technological support
programme for non-commercial and non-governmental organizations.
The World Summit on the Information Society Forum is welcoming this year
some 1,500 delegates from 140 countries of the world spanning
government, the private sector, civil society and UN agencies.around the
world, who strive to define an effective review process to measure
progress towards targets established in 2005 in Tunis.
